DETAIL SPECIFICATION
SWITCHES AND FROGS, TRACK, CAST MANGANESE STEEL,
FOR PORTAL CRANES
This specification is approved for use by the Naval Facilities Engineering
Command, Department of the Navy, and is available for use by all Departments
and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This document covers special cast manganese steel track fittings for portal crane
tracks.
1.2 Classification. Portal crane track fittings will be of the following types, classes, and styles as
specified (see 6.2):
Type I - Switches (double tongue).
Class A - Curve to right.
Class B - Curve to left.
Type II - Rigid frogs.
Class C - Double/double flangeway, for intersection of 135CR with 135CR.
Class D - Double/single flangeway.
